"DE RATONES Y GATOS" LINEWORK (I)

This is the linework I use when I am working on pages, it is not the worst or the best, just my way, and the stuff I think about when I am working, enjoy!
First step, is a sketch process, it is needed to design the characters properly, so you have a clear idea about how are they going to look like. At first I thought on the girl as a “Cordelia” from “Buffy”, I wanted a long black hair girl, then I use some changes for the hair color, maybe red, maybe blond. Finally a friend of mine asks me to draw her with a boy haircut, as “Maria Hill”, so I redesign her head and this is it.

Once the character is clear, its pencil time!, I had the design for the girl, the vampire, the house and all the stuff, so I started this chapter. This time I wanted to draw the shadows instead of make them with a 40% opacity digital brush, as I used to do it.
The idea for this panel was the idea of a scary girl entering in a room on her kness, she don’t know whether if the room is empty or not, and this is what I wanted to show mainly in her face.
I use to get into the artwork, and always get my hands full of charcoal or pencils, so I have always feared the manual inks. This is why I used a digital one, with my Aiptek board. (Mine is an Aiptek Slim Tablet 600U Premium).
I though to change the eyes, because in the pencils, she looks front, but I wanted to make her look to the left, where the window is, so she can check if the vampire is still there.
The white line has no sense, because there is no light in that place, but, once I get the panel inked, it looked weird, without that line, it was difficult to understand what´s going on in that panel, so I added it. (Continue the linework in the second part of the post this week!)

  1. Que bien, ¡Has vuelto!

  2. Irme? Pero si nunca me he ido :S. XD
