3, 2, 1... GUEST STARRING! BRYAN HITCH

No quiero repetirme mucho con esto, pero es que "THE ULTIMATES", es sin duda de las mejores historias que he leído jamás, ya se que habrá puristas de la era Claremont, que si las sagas antiguas y esas cosas, pero en serio, "THE ULTIMATES" es que mola demasiado, y si mola, es porque además de buena historia, los dibujos eran brutales.

Aunque en su contra, debamos decir que sus números sufrían los retrasos a los que estamos ya tan acostumbrados en los cómics estrella, como ya he dicho, esto no importa si luego te obsequian con un comic como los Volúmenes 1 y 2, y el Volumen II 1 y 2. (no, no pienso hablar del III, eso no es Ultimates, ni es nada). Y es que, como paso con Matrix, en su momento, la sombra de Ultimates es larga, no solo porque ahora el Nick Fury de las películas es Samuel L. Jackson, sino porque consiguió, lo que pocos en el universo Ultimate, darle una nueva imagen completa al añejo grupo de vengadores, incluso, usando solo los caracteres originales, nada de poner a un tio con pistolones, ni personajes pintorescos para ser guay, los clásicos.

Además de que, quien haya leído los cuatro primeros tomos, hay mucho que disfrutar en estos tomos, ambientación, acción, personificación, coherencia, es como ver una película, demonios!, si hacen una película debería ser así. Esas perspectivas, ese dinamismo, cosa que los lápices de Hitch, han dado con una gran fuerza en los personajes, Si, ha tardado, pero porque estaba haciendo esto, increíble la pagina desplegable de 8 paneles! Donde los ultimates luchan contra las tropas de Loki.
Hay quien dice que su nueva etapa en Los Cuatro Fantásticos, es mas floja que los Ultimates, y bueno, en mi humilde opinión, yo creo que sigue siendo un gran dibujante, y que por ahora me ha hecho disfrutar de las tres historias que he leído y que han sido ilustradas por si dibujos. Yo lo recomiendo, me gusta su estilo, y si queréis leer un buen comic, con un buena historia y un gran dibujo. Echad un vistazo a los últimos trabajos de Hitch. Nuff Said!

I don´t want to repet myself again, but “THE ULTIMATES”, is one of the best stories I have ever read in my entire life. I know that there could be some people followers of the gold days of Claremont Days and all this stuff, but “THE ULTIMATES”, rocks too much, and if it rocks, it is because have a good store but also brutal pencils!

He also have the problem of the delays in deadlines, which we all know already whit the star comic-books, but, as I had say, I doesnt worry me much, if the final product is a gift like it is, like VOL I. (1&2) and VOL II. (1&2) (And no, I´m not gonna talk about VOL III. Thats not ULTIMATES stuff, no way!) And like it happen with Matrix, the shadow of Hitch work is long, not just because now Fury is Samuel L. Jackson in the movies, which is so cool, it is because he get what not so many could do with the ultimate universe, make it new, make it fresh, give the old Avengers Team a real new look, withouht using splash pages, guys with big big guns, or cool characters to make them awesome as posible. He used the classics.

But of course, enjoy a Hitch comic it is not just characters, if you have follow the first four vols, there is too many thing to enjoy, localizations, accion, personifications, it is like match a movie, Damm! If they do a movie, I really hope they use the Ultimates Lines. That perspective, that strong, Hitch pencils are great. Outstanding the 8 panels page where the Ultimates fight Loki´s army.

There are some people who think, that his new chapter at Fantastic Four is not as good as it was in Ultimate universe, but believe me, I have really enjoy every single comic book drawed by him. I really recommed his work, and if you want to enjoy a comic book with good story and good pencils, check Hitch´s work!, nuff Said!

3, 2, 1... GUEST STARRING!

Hoy en Guest Starring!, quiero dedicar la sección a ese fichero de dibujos que todos, aprendices o profesionales, guardamos en nuestros ordenadores. Con el tiempo, guardamos allí dibujos que nos dicen algo, nos gustan por el dibujante, por los colores, por lo que aparece en ellos, y vamos archivándolos, como referencia, o porque sí, y algunos con el tiempo ni recordamos quien los hizo, tan solo que nos dieron algo, algo que nos dijo que queríamos conservarlo.

Este es el caso de una de las ilustraciones más antiguas que tengo en mi fichero, que siempre me ha gustado y que siempre me ha servido de fuente de superación y de inspiración, de saber que siempre se puede hacer más y mejor, aunque ya no recuerde quien lo hizo.

Today in Guest Starring!, I want to dedicate, this section to the draw fólder in our computer, which everyone, learners or proffesionals, have. With the time, we save there the draws that mean something to us, maybe because of the characters or the artist, or the colours… because of what appears on them… and we keep saving there, like referente, or because we want to, and some of them with the time, we didnt remember who draw them, just that they gave us something, that we wanted to keep.

This is the example of one of the older illustration i had on my file, which I have ever like it, and that always had Works for me when I look for superation or inspiration, to know that we can make more, that we can make it better. Even when we can remember who the artist was.

3, 2, 1... GUEST STARRING!: SEAN GALLOWAY

Sin duda, mi ultimo y de los mas interesantes hallazgos, en el panorama del comic, al menos para mi últimamente, damas y caballeros… el arte de Sean Galloway!.

No recuerdo ni como di a parar con su blog, pero no puedo parar de devorar cada nueva ilustración que aparece en el blog, ese estilo me gusta demasiado, es tan sencillo y a la vez, tan particular, es genial, solo se me ocurre esa expresión COOL.

A pesar de que a veces, no hay piernas, o no hay detalladas expresiones faciales, o un sinfín de capas para conseguir ese efecto tan real de la piel que se ve hasta las venas del cuerpo, sus ilustraciones son más dinámicas que las de mucha gente. Y debo decir que ha sido toda una fuente de inspiración.

La verdad, no se me ocurre como definir mejor el estilo de este dibujante, que con una de sus ilustraciones, fijaos que en ella, a parte de definir perfectamente a los personajes con un par de líneas simples. Lookhed, apenas es mas que un circulo con alas y una cola, en serio, Sean Galloway, Genial.

With no doubt, the last and one of the more fascinating artist I have ever found in the comic draw universe, at least lately… Ladies and Gentleman… the Art of Sean Galloway!

I can´t remember how did I get to his Blog, but till then, I can´t stop devouring their illustrations, I really love his style, so simple but at the same time, so particular, so great, just a Word to describe it: COOL.

Even when sometimes, there are no legs, or not detaily facial expressions, or a neverending number of canvas to get this so real effect in the skin color till you can see the veins, even with that, his illustrations are more dinamic than so many others work. And i have to say that is a real inspiration for me.

To be honest, I think there is nor a better way to explain his style, than with one of his illustrations. Look at this, with a bunch of simples lines he get the esence of the characters, Lookhed, is just a circle with wing and a tail, seriously people, Sean Galloway, Cool.
